FRI 4TH & SAT 5TH AUGUST

SUNDAY 2ND & SUNDAY 9TH JULY // THE FLEECE
New for 2017, we thought we’d tweak the format of the first stage of the competition. We’ll be hosting two days of auditions, with bands performing short 20-minute sets. With 10-minute changeovers the pressure will really be on, but those who impress will be ready for the next round!
Score weighting: 50% Audience Votes / 50% Underdog Judges
Entrants: 30 Bands // Number to Semi Finals: 12 Bands
FRIDAY 4TH & SATURDAY 5TH AUGUST // THE FLEECE
We couldn’t fault our 2016 Semi Finals – we averaged over 200 people per event so we’re keeping the same format – except we’ve now upgraded them to weekend shows. The top twelve bands from the Auditions will compete for the coveted spots in the Grand Final! We’ll be inviting our runners up from last year to headline the events too.

WILD CARD ROUND
FRIDAY 11TH - SATURDAY 12TH AUGUST // FACEBOOK
The Wild Card Round returns for 2017! The eight bands who fail to progress from the Semi Finals get one last shot at the Grand Final. We’re going to run an online poll on Facebook (open for just 24 hours) with votes being added to the scores from the Semi Finals. The top two bands will then go onto compete at the Grand Final. Last year we had over 2,700 votes in 24 hours – we expect more this year!

THE GRAND FINAL
SATURDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER // O2 ACADEMY (MAIN STAGE)
We can confirm that we’ll be returning to the o2 Academy for our Grand Final in 2017! Our six finalists will battle it out one last time for a shot at our prize list.
Joining them on one of the biggest stages in Bristol, we’ve invited back last year’s winners Imprints to headline the event. They’ve agreed to squeeze us into their busy tour season (Boomtown / Dot2Dot) to keep you all entertained whilst we count up the votes.

We’ve made a few changes to the 2017 format, but we can reveal that our £1,000 cash prize will once again be topping our prize list.
Recording? Merchandise? Touring? Equipment? No strings attached, spend it on what you want – it’s your money!
Our longest recording session yet; we’ll be sending our second place winners to our friends at Auricula Records where they’ll spend a week in their new studio!
Plenty of time to put together an EP or a bunch of singles, it’s up to you how you wanna spend your recording time (no interfering from us!).
Our third place winners get something new! We’ll be sending them on a location shoot with Mustafa Mirreh (Tap The Feed / Bristol Live Magazine). The winners will then pick their favourite shot to be turned into a promotional poster by the in-house design at the Fleece, which will then be distributed all over the South West by Death or Glory Promotions.
